The Foundation For Autism was founded in 2010 by Deanna Sellers and Solfine Dorleus. It began as West Orange ASD Support and Play Group ( www.meetup.com/westorangeasd ), and was intended to offer social opportunities and support in the West Orange County area.
Soon after the support group was founded, the early intervention Autism Workshops started, providing a fantastic resource (and the first of its kind) to the residents of West Orange. Since West Orange ASD’s humble beginnings in 2010, it has grown in numbers and maintains an active calendar of events and activities for ASD families, not only in the West Orange area, but all over Central Florida.
The Foundation now offers many avenues for support, including some very unique perks for Support Group members. It is our goal to offer as many resources for support as possible to families in Central Florida.
We currently offer:
- Weekly social events, informational sessions, and activities for Support Group members
- One-on-one, telephone, and email support
- Assistance with finding early intervention and other resources
- Advocacy
- Autism Workshops
